Zoom QR code

Let people join a meeting, webinar, office-hours session, or classroom from a simple scan. A Zoom QR code is especially effective when you need to move people from a physical space into a live digital session quickly.

When to use one

What should the QR code open?

In many cases the destination should be the Zoom meeting or webinar link itself. If passcodes, time windows, or pre-read instructions matter, a landing page is often a better destination because it gives you space to explain what users should expect before they join.

If the session URL may change after print, use a dynamic QR setup so the printed code does not become obsolete.

Best practices

  1. Label the code with the session name and start time.
  2. Show whether the scan opens the app, a browser page, or a registration screen.
  3. Include a backup short link for laptop users.
  4. Test with both logged-in and logged-out Zoom users.
  5. Avoid placing the code too close to the projector edge or glare.
